According to police, actor Jonathan Majors was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with assault, strangulation, and harassment.
A domestic dispute between a 33-year-old male and a 30-year-old female reportedly prompted police to respond to a call to an apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City late on Saturday morning. The assault was reported to the police by the woman.
Officers arrested the 33-year-old male without incident.”. In a statement provided to NPR, a New York City Police Department spokesperson stated, “The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”
Majors’ representative, Carrie Gordon, told NPR: He has not broken any laws. We anticipate removing his name and resolving this.
In a statement on Sunday, Majors’ criminal defense attorney, Priya Chaudhry, stated that Majors “is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows.”
According to Chaudhry, the incident occurred in a vehicle, and Majors’ attorneys had video evidence, statements from witnesses, and two written statements from the woman retracting her claims.
Sponsor Message Chaudhry stated, “All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is completely innocent and did not assault her in any way.” Sadly, this incident occurred as a result of this woman’s emotional crisis, for which she was taken to the hospital yesterday. In such instances, the NYPD must make an arrest, and this was the only reason Mr. Majors was detained. We anticipate the dismissal of these charges soon.”
This year, Majors has received a lot of attention, and he has appeared in three movies in 2023: Wasp and Ant Man: Magazine Dreams, Quantumania, and Creed III.
